Hotel Monínec *** is located on the Javorská skála 70 km south of Prague on the border of the Central and South Bohemia near the town of Sedlec-Prčice. It is the highest point on the axis Prague - Šumava at an altitude of 723 meters above sea level. The hotel has a beautiful view of the countryside of Czech Meran and Czech Siberia. The hotel offers comfort and peace in the middle of nature and is suitable for relaxation, private events as well as for corporate events, seminars and conferences.
The new guesthouse provides accommodation of the same standard as the Hotel Moninec ***.
Over three storeys, Javorka provides not just accommodation, but also a conference room and comfortable facilities for the hotel ski school and hire shop. The total of 20 rooms are very similar to the rooms in the hotel. The top floor also includes three studios with kitchenettes, although we plan to open these to the public only in summer. Last but not least, Javorka provides disabled accommodation, something which has until now been lacking at Monínec. There will be a total of 20 rooms and 54 beds.
Two apartment bulidings provide an unusual view - over Little Hluboka, as the castle in Jestříchovice built in the style of the South Bohemian castle of Hluboká is known. The apartments are located below the lower chairlift station and offer very comfortable accommodation. Two buildings, 14 apartments, each with its own covered parking space and lockable ski room, total capacity 70 people.
Čertovka is the last of the original buildings in Monínec. The lower floor contains a cosy bar which can be used as a social room.
Right nearby is a pool and playground, with tennis and volleyball courts across the field. Čertovka guesthouse provides great value accommodation in traditional style. Admire the beauty of the Central Bohemia Region, specifically Czech Siberia and Český Merán, from our guesthouses, as a generation of hikers, scouts and ordinary tourists enjoyed it not so long ago.
Monínec lies in the heart of Czech Siberia, and the combination of its microclimate, north slope and elevation makes Monínec a unique natural glacier. There are a number of pistes for skiers and snowboarders. Our four-seat chairlift will take you to the top of the 1.2 km long piste. The ski school teaches adults and children in two skiparks. The resort is also equipped with the latest snow-making technology allowing snow to be produced at temperatures above zero degrees. Monínec is thus the ideal place for skiing near Prague.
The ski school offers tuition of adults and children on the School run with a 93 m magic carpet. All facilities, fully equipped for winter sports, including hire facilities and servicing facilities, are a matter of course. Thanks to the most modern snow system the local slope is ideal for skiing even when bikes are being ridden elsewhere.
The Monínec Resort is also equipped with technology allowing snow production at temperatures above zero, this means that the season lasts noticeable longer here than in other resorts.
Visitors to the complex will appreciate the excellent facilities at the complex in summer. There is everything here that a family could wish for - an outdoor swimming pool with a beautiful view, a children’s playground, an activity park filled with things to do, a lido and a large number of cycle and hiking paths in the surrounding area. You can also find a bikepark here with several routes suitable for experienced bikers and also for beginners, children and women. The improved 2-kilometre bike route offers banked bends on Monínec right on the ski run and several jumps. Thanks to the variability of the routes on each of the trails, visitors will find both simpler downhill routes and more difficult ones, which are distinguished by bigger jumps. There is also a new Family trail route on Monínec, which is approximately three kilometres long and suitable for less experienced bikers.
You can enjoy attractions such as the maxi-slide, the giant marble track, trampolines, tubing, aquazorbing, disc-golf, the rope park, mountain scooters, tennis, volleyball and other activities at the Monínec Activity Park. The natural lido at Pilský pond is located just a few minutes walk from the lower ski-lift station and you can try paddle-boarding or rafting there. You can also enjoy some summer refreshment on the Monínec Terrace by the hotel, with an outdoor swimming pool (8 x10 m with counter-current and whirlpool bath) and a new children’s playground. Many visitors also travel to our complex to play golf, which they enjoy at the nearby Čertovo Břemeno resort.
Are you interested in why you should visit Monínec? There are many minor reasons, which you can find in any tourist resort, but only a few that are unique to the complex below Javorová skála.
Monínec Terraces are an excellent summer base for families with children. The outdoor pool with counter-current, whirlpool baths and a beautiful view will be enjoyed by the whole family. The children will love the large playground with climbing frames, swings, climbing walls, slides and other fun elements. Parents will appreciate the adjoining Terraces Café bar where they can enjoy refreshments and watch their children playing.
The monínec piste offers skiers 1.2 kilometres of downhill skiing. It is regularly groomed by two grooming vehicles. The four person chairlift with a capacity of 2400 people per hour is open in winter and in summer. Plus a 600 m2 people T-bar lift. The whole slope is snow and illuminated for night skiing.
The Monínec Resort was equipped with a Snowfactory system in 2016. This system allows production of snow using special snow making equipment, which assures production of snow at temperatures of up to 15 °C.
If we are allowed to express a little pride in any of our services, then we would certainly choose our chefs and other staff who take care of our customers at the hotel restaurant. Of course it’s not just them, because the biggest added value provided by our complex is based on the care and willingness shown by all our staff.
There are more than a dozen summer and winter activities available in the complex itself. We also recommend several accessible attractions you can walk to, cycle to or reach by car, to long-term visitors. And if activity is not desirable, which we also warmly endorse, we recommend the most beautiful view of the Bohemian Meran valley from the hotel terrace.
